Just wanting to share my initial thoughts on the new Chanel Le Vernis Long Wear Nail Colour formula. If you follow me on Instagram, you would know I’m currently on vacation in Hawaii and have acquired a lot of beauty products on my wishlist (yay!) that are not in Australia yet, including these new nail polishes that are only exclusive to Chanel.com and the boutique as of now.
I bought the shade MONOCHROME; ORGANDI; CAMELIA and ROUGE ESSENTIEL, and all of them are new colors for this range. I have worn the color ORGANDI on my nails for several days now. It applies smooth and streak free, but I don’t notice a significant difference to the old Le Vernis nail colors for application. In terms of finish, it is glossier than the older formula , but not as good as the nail gloss formula that was released for Sunrise Trip (reviewed here) as part of the Spring 2016 collection. I would still need a coat of clear gel topcoat to achieve the salon gel-like finish.
ORGANDI is an elegant nude dusty salmon pink color with no shimmer (my sort of color). 2 coats will give an opaque finish as swatched. It is not as nude so it doesn’t wash you out, and still giving you this clean polished look. This range is supposed to be more long lasting and nail friendly as it contains some nourishing ingredients to improve the quality of the nails. I have had it on for 4 days now and so far it is looking nearly as freshly applied with no chipping.
Swatch: 2 thin coats of ORGANDI with no top coat
Bottom Line: The Long Wear Nail Formula and the original line are not hugely different, but if you want to go for some cult favorite Chanel nail colors such as Particuliere, and Pirate etc that exist in both formulas, then I would definitely go for the newer version as they are more long lasting.

This spring Chanel has released a limited edition nail color 683 Sunrise Trip in a newly reformulated gel formula! I am absolutely smitten with the exclusive formula to this spring collection, and it got me very excited about the upcoming nail polish collection in a newly renovated formula by Chanel. The new collection is called Le Vernis Longwear Nail Color available in 15 shades (some are new, some are the classic shades) will be launching very soon worldwide. Note that Sunrise Trip is actually labelled Nail Gloss on the packaging, which suggests to me it might be of a different formula to the new collection.
The Sunrise Trip (bought here in Australia) is a bluish purple color with no shimmer. It has a fluid gel consistency and it glides on very smoothly and applies streak free. It is more opaque than the regular Chanel Nail Color, and with 2 coats it gives a full opaque and the glossiest gel-like finish. I have had the color on for 2 weeks and there was only 1 tiny chip thus far (without any nail base coat), so I am very impressed with the longevity of this new formula. The shine also lasts about a week before it starts to fade. Last but not least, it is also easy to remove with any regular nail polish remover.
Here is a preview picture of the new nail collection from Collection that I shared on my instagram. More information can be found on Chanel.com.

I am not extremely fond of fancy nail design, but the Chanel Le Top Coat Lame Rouge Noir (limited edition) captured my heart this season. The golden flecks set in a black-red tinted clear base is absolutely gorgeous from the Chanel bottle. On the nails, it is a perfect match with the Chanel Rouge Noir, and it would also complement any other dark nail colors. The golden glitters are flat so the top coat dries into a smooth surface. For application you must give give the bottle a vigorous shake to achieve a coat with dense glitters.
Not only does it add a sparkly touch to the nail, but as a top coat it works better than my HG Seche Vite (now available at Sephora Australia) ! It dries fairly quickly (within 90 seconds), adds a glossy shine to the nails, and it also helps to prevent chipping. Normally my nail polish with the Seche Vite top coat starts to chip from day 3-4, and I have had this top coat on me for about 6 days and there is not a single chip yet!
I bought mine here in Australia.

The holiday makeup collections have started emerging from the shops , with Chanel Rouge Noir Absolument Holiday 2015 Collection (also called Vamp Attitude) being the first release hitting the Australian shore. This year, Chanel pays tribute to its iconic nail polish – the Rouge Noir, hence you will find that this collection features a lot of products that are inspired by this unconventional yet timeless shade. The stunning Chanel Le Vernis Rose Fusion 757 Nail Polish is my first purchase from the collection (others are on the way!).
I have had this color on my nails for several hours now and I have yet to conclude how to describe it – it’s possibly the most complex and interesting nail color I have ever seen from Chanel. The color changes under different lighting as well as from different angles. From the bottle it looks like a metallic taupe color with an olive undertone with an iridescent sheen. It has a lot of micro multi-colored glitters, and unlike other Chanel nail colors with shimmer, these glitters in Rose Fusion appear more visible on the nails. It applies smooth and streak free with 2 coats, and sets into a foil finish. I have put together some swatch pictures to show you how the color varies under different lighting – sometimes it looks like a silvery charcoal, or a rosey taupe color, and sometimes it appears more golden olive.

It is the time of the year when Sydney is running the major Vogue Fashion Night Out event, and the highly anticipated exclusive Chanel Blue Rhythm Collection is only available on the night in Australia. Chanel fans would know that they always release some stunning nail colors for VFNO, and this year the two blue Chanel Le Vernis FORTISSIMO 681 and VIBRATO 665 are no exceptions. Along with the nail polishes, I also picked up several other products which will be covered in a future post.
Fortissimo is a midnight blue color with micro shimmer. As with most Chanel nail colors with shimmer, once this is applied on to the nails, it goes on to a cream finish and shimmer that can only be seen at certain angles. When I first saw the two colors, I was immediately drawn to Fortissimo as it looked quite wearable for a blue color. But once I had tried Vibrato on my nails, I could not take my eyes off this color – it’s a bright dark cobalt blue color that will catch people’s attention to your nails straight away. The color is very fashion-forward in a Chanel way, as it’s not over the top, but it just has some special element to it that makes it look expensive but young.
Swatch – 2 coats each color. Both colors are very opaque and apply smoothly and evenly.
Both nail colors are limited editions, and they are now available on Nordstrom and Chanel Online with the Blue Rhythm De Chanel collection in the US.

On my nails today is the beautiful Chanel Le Vernis 767 FRAÎCHEUR that is exclusive to Chanel Online. It was released together with the new Chanel Chance Eau Vive Fragrance Collection, and Le Vernis FRAÎCHEUR matches with the Chance Eau FRAÎCHEUR. Chanel always make everything elegant – even for the most tricky colors like green. Remember the mint color that was released years ago and it was sold out literally within a minute world wide, this trending beauty is probably the second best green nail color from Chanel that you can add to your collection.
FRAÎCHEUR is a neutral green that leans slightly warm (depending on the angle you are looking at). It has micro gold shimmer, and as with most Chanel polish, it applies to a cream glossy finish. The texture is smooth and applies streak free and opaque with 2 coats. It is a fresh and fashion-forward color that will definitely compliment your spring outfit if you are in the northern hemisphere, but as for me this color adds a playful spin to my rather neutral and boring winter outfit!

I am currently wearing the Dior Vernis SUNWASHED 319 from the Tie Dye Summer 2015 Collection on my nails. I personally love wearing pastel nail colors for the summer season as it’s all about being fun and experimental with bright colors. The SUNWASHED is a creamy lemon yellow color in a glossy finish that compliments my skin tone nicely without making my skin appear more yellow. I am in the process of growing my nails long (if they don’t break)…and I think this would be the perfect color to wear on longer nails without looking too matronly or vampy.
Dior usually makes the best nail polishes in the high end market in terms of quality. Unfortunately this color applies a little streaky for the first two coats, so I had to apply a third coat for a complete opaque and even finish. I wish the consistency was better, however I am not that surprised as I have never come across a yellow nail polish that applies as good as the darker colors.

I have not been posting about nail polishes for a long time so a quick post on the Dior Lady 294 Nail Lacquer today. The reason I have not been writing about nail polishes is because I completely stopped wearing them for several months. My nails became so damaged after having shellac gel several times – they became very brittle and thinner, and the surface got very rough as I had to sand them off each time. From this experience I would probably never having them done again (sorry shellac!).
Dior Lady is a muted dusty pink with flesh undertone in cream glossy finish. It’s a very classy and elegant shade and would suit most skin tones. The quality of Dior nail polishes is the best in the market – 2 coats give you a smooth, streak free, and opaque cream finish with a gel-like shine. Unfortunately for this post I still can’t take close up shots of my nails as they have not returned to the tip-top conditions, hope you get the idea of what the color looks like when it’s painted!
I bought mine at David Jones, and it’s also available here in the US. Other products featured in the pictures include Vita Fede mini bracelet; Vita Fede mini v ring; Vita Fede mini pearl ring; Diptyque mini candle from the mini candle set.
