SHOP

This post might create some serious lemming for those of you who are into girly and cute makeup, so be prepared if you happen to be on a shopping ban this month! Jill Stuart Fall 2011 Collection was released in Asia about 3 weeks ago, I was totally smitten by this collection as soon as I saw the promo pictures. I cannot thank Jennifer from Lifeandlensofbeauty enough who kindly offered  to purchase these products for me in Hongkong. She told me that they have been so popular that as soon as the release was out, she had to send all of her relatives to different Jill Stuart counters..This is just incredibly sweet of her!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Jill Stuart Makeup – it is a high end makeup line originated in Japan with an über dreamy princessy packaging. It is my must-visit spot whenever I go to Asia – not only do I love collecting their blushes (which is their best selling product) I am also deeply infatuated with all the cute girls working at Jill Stuart who look like real life Barbies haha.

The Jill Stuart Fall collection contains 2 LE blushes, 3 LE nail polishes, 4 LE lip glosses and a whole new permanent line of  Prism Carat Eyes which are cream and loose eyeshadow duos – I passed these up as I am not that into loose pigment. To find more information on this release check out this post from Rouge Deluxe.

Chanel Fall 2011 Collection is finally landed in Australia! If you have read my previous post you would know I picked up some items from this collection. Thanks to all the fabulous beauty bloggers who have reviewed this collection extensively – I had a fairly good idea in terms of what I wanted to get.

I love everything I picked out, at the end of day it’s hard not to love anything by Chanel! Of course I could have easily bought more Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadow but I figured that these are the absolute essential shades for me for now.

chanel-fall-2011-collection-haulClockwise from top right:

– Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in 83 Illusoire (AUD$48)

– Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in 82 Emerveille (AUD$48)

– Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 68 Rose Ecrin (AUD$71)

– Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 156 Pampille (AUD$46)

– Le Vernis Nail Colour in 529 Graphite (AUD$39)

I am not going to review these products as there are so many greats reviews already. My personal picks are Cafe Makeup and The Beauty Look Book – who wouldn’t appreciate their reviews and beautiful pictures?! Since these products are still brand new, I felt they deserve to be photographed. Hopefully they will serve the purpose of creating some lemming for you 🙂 I have also taken some pictures of possible dupes for you.

Let’s start with Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in 82 Emerveille versus Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill in 08 Nola

Compared to the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in 08 (reviewed seperately here), the Chanel is more peachy, and less metallic.

I forgot to include Chanel Tweed pink in the pictures, you can find the review here. Compared to the other two, Chanel Rose Ecrin is a neutral pink.

Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in 156 Pampille (middle) compared to 87 Seashell (left) and 25 Voyage (right)

Le Vernis Nail Colour in 529 Graphite – so beautiful

chanel-Le-Vernis-Nail-Colour-529-Graphite

Graphite compared to Black Pearl and Steel – it is striking that they look completely different even though they all have an undertone of black.

chanel-Le-Vernis-Nail-Colour-529-Graphite-black-pearl-steelWhat else do I want to get:

Illusion D’Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Epatant – I didn’ see it at the counter…

Chanel Quad in Prelude – Pity that Australia only has the baked version and I am trying to get my hands on the US version.

Bottom Line: Chanel Collections never fail to impress us. The nail lacquers and the Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadows are the must haves. I can’t wait to wear them 🙂

I am so excited to show you this haul today! It’s very special to me because I wouldn’t be able to get hold of these makeups if I didn’t have this blog. One of the greatest things I have enjoyed from blogging to date is getting to know people all around the world who share the same passion with makeup as I do. I am not a pro blogger nor do I do this for living, it is really just my hobby to express my love for makeup. The experience has been really awesome so far, reading comments from all of you completes my day 🙂

Okay back to the topic, I want to do a big SHOUTOUT to Elaine. She is one of the kindest and sweetest girls I have met on the blogging community, do check out her awesome blog! I cannot thank her enough for helping me buy some of the Kanebo eyeshadow palettes and Etude House blushes which I have wanted for so long. I did give her quite a long shopping list but unfortunately some of the Kanebo palettes have been discontinuted and are no longer available over the counter – I have to buy them over the evil bay..

My new boots, Loving it!

IMG_2185

I did a massive clothing haul during this weekend. I have been reading magazines and checking out all the fabulous bloggers for winter fashion which boosted my mood to go shopping! I am one of those girls who like to update my wardrobe every season – just to add a few key pieces of clothing of the season but still classy enough to be worn in the future.  There are still a few key pieces I want to buy such as leather skirt, cashmere sweater, a military jacket..the list goes on and on..

front-row-beauty-clothing-haul

So here is what I bought so far for this winter, these are the Australian high street brands I always go for ,  they are well made with quality materials.

YSL Arty Oval Ring

May 12, 2011

My weekly haul has officially resumed as of today! I was lucky enough to snatch up a YSL Arty Oval Ring after I noticed Net-A-porter had it restocked. As usual the shipping was extremely fuss free and fast, I received my ring within a few days. I had always wanted to have this ring, it looked stunning on many pictures I have seen. When I opened the box, the ring was even more gorgeous than I have ever imagined.

There were many colors to choose from, the aqua green stood out the most for me. I love it so much I am seriously considering collecting all the colors!

ysl-arty-ring-in-greenA few different angles:

ysl-arty-ring-in-green-1

ysl-arty-ring-in-green-2The ring looks and feels expensive. The metal part is gold plated and has intricate textured details. The  aqua green glass oval has  gem like appearance with semi translucent finish.

On Me: the pictures don’t do its justice, it looks much more striking and  glamorous  in real life.

Holiday Haul – Beauty

April 28, 2011

I am back! Feeling a little down (don’t want to go back to work..) and still jet lagging. This is just going to be a quick post showing you how many makeups I was capable of buying in 6 days time in Hong Kong and Taiwan:-P I am quite proud of myself this time around because everything I bought was on my wish list, did not buy anything on impulse 😉

I LUURV everything I bought, they are hard to find  as a lot of them are Asia Exclusive. I can’t wait to blog about them with better pictures and proper reviews.

April Weekly Haul

April 7, 2011

I want to do more product reviews or FOTDs, but I have been working extremely long hours lately, by the time I get home my face is left with nothing but stress and  dust haha. Since I shop almost every week, I think I might as well show you what I have bought lately.

No matter how tired I get, I always have some energy left to shop!  I managed to stock up some of my all time favorite products as well as some new products I have been lemming for a while.

Here you go, a group picture.

frontrowbeauty-haulI love Inglot makeups, can’t rave enough about it! I picked up some beautiful pigments, a gel lipstick and a super moisturizing lip crayon.

Two products from Mecca. My all time favorite world’s best cleanser by Eve Lom – this is my third pot. I am still using other cleansers but I don’t feel secure without this one.

eve-lom-cleanserI have never tried the Living Proof haircare line,  it sounds really enticing on Mecca’s ads.
